Benefits Information Guide
This guide is to inform you of the benefits that
Fossil Rim offers to full time employees. Eligibility for all
insurance is the 1st of the month following the first 30 days
employment.
Health and Welfare Benefits
This benefit allows you to customize a benefits
package that is perfect for you and your family. Most benefit
deductions are on a pre-tax basis. Benefits include:
• Medical – Fossil Rim offers a PPO
plan that includes retail prescription coverage and mail-in
prescription coverage. At present, our coverage is with Blue
Cross / Blue Shield of Texas. Fossil Rim pays 70% of the cost
for each employee.
• Health Reimbursement Account – Fossil Rim will reimburse any employee
$500 of the $1500 deductible if at any time this deductible needs to be paid.
• Dental – One dental plan is available and this plan is affordable
and fully paid for by the employee.
• Flexible Spending Account – Fossil Rim offers this account that
allows for certain health-care and day-care expenses, using income deducted pre-tax
from the employee’s pay check.
• Life Insurance – Employees are given basic life insurance at no
charge to the employee. Additional coverage can be purchased as well.
401(k) Savings Plan
Employees are eligible to join this generous
401(k) Savings Plan after one full year of service at Fossil
Rim. Employees will receive a matching 50% contribution per
dollar saved up to 6% of the employee’s base salary,
fully vested after 5 years of employment at Fossil Rim.
Paid Time Off
Employees accrue time at a competitive rate which
can be used for a variety of reasons. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
is completely closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas
Day. In addition, Fossil Rim recognizes five public holidays
where our administrative offices are closed but the Center
remains open.
Employee Discounts
All Fossil Rim employees receive a 25% discount
at all our retail locations, including the Lodge and Safari
Camp. All employees have free access to a bag of feed and the
Scenic Wildlife Drive.
Community Volunteer Events
We feel it’s very important to give back
to the community, too. Keeping that in mind, Fossil Rim is
part of different events throughout the year where employees
can reach out to the local community.
